Companies have sprung up exponentially in the past few years due to conflicts around the globe.  The ability for private security companies to obtain federal contracts through the Department of Defense and the State Department, have flourished giving contractors hundreds of thousands of jobs.

Many of the companies operating in areas such as Iraq or Afghanistan, are located on the International Peace Operations Association (IPOA) list.  However, many of the companies that offer jobs overseas are not on that list.  It will be up to you to find these companies and which ones you believe you would like to work for and see if they have jobs available.  

Keeping involved with the IPOA is a good way to stay informed of the trends going on.  The IPOA was formed in order to maintain a standard of the private sector doing business in unstable regions.  Here is the current (September 2009) of the IPOA list.
